Proton VI is an exploration of the feeling of giving birth, could be giving birth to an idea, a belief, a creation…. I decided on the visceral red and orange colouring of the bronze to accentuate the experience of birth. Inspired by Quantum physics, Particle and Wave theory; “Playing in the field” looking at fundamentals; energy moving between a fine vibration (wave) to a coarse vibration (particle). From Spirit to Physical and back. Proton VI emerges as a human being born from the etheric nebulousness of the quantum field of possibilities.

There are eight Proton sculptures in the series. Whilst the central figure remains the same, each one is unique, the ‘wave’ or abstract part of the sculpture is created specifically for each piece and the patination/colour on each Proton is unique too.
